Stand Up for Somthing

Matthew 21:12,13 - And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

We are taught a great lesson by our Saviour in this portion of scripture. Jesus shows us here that it is ok to let some things upset you, and it is ok for us to stand up for for things that are right! Many people will try to tell you that it is not ok to ever get angry about anything...that it is sin. The truth is, it is ok to get upset and angry about things as long as you control your anger and it is about the right things.
One of the big reasons that our country and our world is in the mess that it is in today is because no one will stand up for anything today. We live in a world that is way to concerned about being politically correct. We are too worried about who we are going to offend with the things that we say. Can I tell you that this is the reason that God has been taken out of our church. This is the reason that the Ten Commandments have been removed from the Court. This is why we have atheists trying to remove every Godly thing from this world. They know that there are not enough people that are willing to stand up for God to make a difference.
If only the Christians of this country were willing to stand up for God and stand up for whats right...oh what God could Do. II Chronicles 7:14 - If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Can I tell you tonight that it is the fault of our Christians today that our country is in the mess that it's in.
The state of California, THE LAND OF NUTS AND FRUITS, voted last year to hold that marriage is between a man and a woman. Can I tell you that there are enough people in this country that still stand for the right things, THEY JUST NEED TO STAND UP.
Just as the the brave men and women that stand up for our freedom, We are also soldiers in a great battle. We are soldiers in the Lords army. We need to be ready to stand up and defend our faith. I would like to give you two things that ever Christian should be ready to stand up for.

I. Stand up for the Scriptures
I Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

We need to stand up for the Word of God. Be ready to give anyone the reasons why you believe God's word. God's Word is perfect, it is Holy, it is inspired and it is perfectly preserved in our King James Bible. If every Christian would take a moment to realize that every time they pick up the King James Bible that they are reading the THE Words of God as written by men of God, inspired by the Spirit of God then maybe they would be more ready to defend it. God's word is the Christan's Declaration of Independence from Hell. There is only one true and preserved copy of the Declaration of Independence and we would be upset if someone tried to change its words to mean what they wanted it to. We should feel the same way about God's word. The Psalmest wrote "Forever oh Lord; thy word is settled in Heaven." Psalm 119:89. No one on this earth has the right to change something that has been settled in Heaven. When someone tries to tell you that their watered down version of the bible is the same thing as your King James Bible, its time to stand up. Each time someone tries to "translate" God's Word they take time to try and change things that they do not like. God's word is perfect and needs no change. Each time more and more words are removed and meanings are changed.
Can I also say that when someone tries to tell our children that they cannot read their bible during their down time, we should go bonkers. The text books in our schools today can't teach half of what the Bible can teach our children. If someone tells my children that they can't read God's word when their finished with their work can I tell you that my first call will be to the CLA. With as much foolishness that is being taught and all the wickedness that goes on in public schools today, you better believe that my children WILL be reading God's word every chance they Get. Stand up for God's Word

II. Stand up for the Saviour
Matthew 10:32-33 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. but whosoever shall deny me before men him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

We serve a Savior that is worth standing up for. We serve a Savior that suffered and gave his life on the cross of Calvary. The Lord Jesus Christ became a man (because He IS GOD) and surrendered some of His powers as God to come to this earth and die for the sins of all mankind. You have a home in Heaven because of the Love that Christ showed you. In the book of Luke Chapter 22 in verse 42 we see Christ asking God for another way. He says Father if thou be willing, remove this cup from me... The flesh of Christ did not want to die for you and I. Just like any other man He knew that there would be much pain involved. He knew that it would not be pleasant. Thank God for the second half of that verse where He says...nevertheless not my will, but thine be done. The love that our Holy Savior showed as he hung upon that cruel cross is worth standing up for. We are getting close to Christmas. The time of year that we celebrate the birth of our blessed Savior. Whenever someone tells you happy holidays, thank them and tell them why it is by sharing Jesus with them. Stand up for the Savior when the school plays try to take all mention of Him out them. Friend when you hear someone talk about your Savior, don't stand for it. SPEAK UP. Don't deny the Savior as Peter did. I like what the last verse of the song Stand up, Stand up for Jesus says
Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
                                                         the strife will not be long;
this day the noise of battle,
                                                          the next the victor's song.
                                                       To those who vanquish evil
                                                          a crown of life shall be;
they with the King of Glory
                                                             shall reign eternally.

You will face persecution but it will not last for long. He is coming again and when he does we will no longer have to stand up for Him as He will be here to stand up for us.

I do pray that as we continue in this life and things get worse by the day, because the bible says they will, that you will choose to take a stand for the Christian Faith. Don't be afraid to put on the armor of God and stand up for the Scriptures, and Stand up for the Savior

If You Died Today?

We live in a world of many paths and decisions today. From an early age we are given so many options in life as to what we want to be when we grow up. As we leave high school and reach young adulthood we are faced with the different paths of career choices... Will I go to work or will I go to College... What college will I go to? We have the opportunity to choose what kind of people we will hang out with, and many other things.

One thing that is becoming more and more frequent in this world is that people are saying that we have more than one path to choose to go to Heaven. We have people like Oprah trying to say that you can make your own path to Heaven and people like Joel Osteen who claims to be a preacher but he will, on Larry King Live, tell you that he is not sure how to get to Heaven but that he is sure that there is more than one way to get there.

Friends, I am here to tell you that though there are many decisions in life that have a lot of grey area, Salvation is not one of them. Salvation is PLAIN AND SIMPLE, BLACK AND WHITE. With that statement I pose this question to you... If you died today, do you know for sure that you will go to Heaven???

If your answer is no to this question, I want to give you some good news. The bible tells us that we CAN know. I John 5:13 "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

There is only one one way to Heaven. Jesus said I am THE way, THE truth, and THE life. The word THE here means that there is know other way. The bible tells us in Romans 3:20 "Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin." There is nothing that we can do to get ourselves into Heaven. For by Grace are ye saved through faith. It is only by God's amazing grace that we can find our self one day walking on the streets of gold and resting at the feet of our Saviour Jesus Christ.

I. Realize that you are a sinner.
Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." The word all here is a very complicated word... It means EVERYONE. The only person to ever walk this earth and live His entire life without every committing a sin was Jesus Christ. Everyone else is a sinner. You say "but I'm a good person." Lets test that theory. The bible says we are not to bear false wittiness. Have you ever lied...that makes you a liar. The bible says thou shalt not steal. Have you ever stolen anything, even a piece of candy...that makes you a thief. The bible also says that to look upon a woman to lust after her is committing adultery...Have you every lusted after another woman...That makes you an adulterer. These three things alone make you a lying, thieving, adulterer. Still think that you are good enough to get into Heaven?

II. Realize the price for sin.
Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death;" There is a price for sin, and that price is blood. There must be blood shed. You if you wish, have the ability to pay for your own sin debt by not accepting Christ as your Saviour. If you make this choice then you are promised to spend the rest of eternity burning in a literal fire in Hell.

III. Realize the Payment by the Savior
Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
The wages for all of the sin, for every man and woman on this earth were all paid at one time. When Jesus died on the cross and raised from the dead, He ascended up to God and laid his perfect and undefiled blood before Him for a payment of all sin. He gave His life so that we would never have to fear the Fires of Hell

IV. Realize the Path you must Select
Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, Shall be Saved." This is where the simplicity of salvation comes in. All you have to do to be saved is ask Christ to come in your heart and forgive you of your sins. Admit to him your knowledge that you are a sinner and ask Him to save you. That's it. Not by baptism, not by speaking in tongues, and not by going through any salvation classes. JUST CALL OUT TO CHRIST TO SAVE YOU.

If you are ready to make this decision for Christ. If you want him to be your personal Saviour say the following prayer from your heart.
Dear God, I admit to You that I'm a sinner headed for Hell. I know I cannot save myself. I believe with all my heart that Jesus died on the cross and arose from the dead to pay my sin debt. I do right now place my trust in Him to be my Saviour. Forgive me my sin , save me and reserve for me a home in Heaven. In Jesus name. Amen!

If you have made a decision for Christ, please comment and let me know so that I may rejoice with you.

Prayer Request

Prayer is such a powerful thing. "Call unto me, and I will answer thee and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. Jeremiah 33:3. If you have any prayer requests please put them as a comment on this post so that I and anyone that reads them can carry them to the feet of our wonderful Savior.
